it's just a case of having the shoe on the other foot, as the saying goes.....

To all of those across the aisle. You will now see what it feels like now that the shoe is on the other foot. Maybe it is time to bring this great country back to the people that built it. And clean house of all the Big shot fat cats that made out do to our hard work, lives and despair. Who would have thought that one administration over 8 years could do so much damage to our country and the world. God helps us all and after there is change for the better that can now happen.  And to theones that called us bad names and refused to see the truth should come over to the better side with the real winners not takers...LOL

Bush and his cronies taught this country unfortunately that "you're either with us or you're not." Democracy is supposed to represent both sides, really and truly wanting to reach accross the aisle and to hammer out problems. In other words we are not a totalitarian, dictatorial governace as the Bush administration has tried for. Many of us have suffered watching the disastrous last 8 years. I am a democrate and I'm so happy the dems are going to have a voice finally but there needs to be that back and forth dialogue, a tension which leads us hopefully to real fair and balanced choices. There are some really stubborn congressmen and senators who are republicans that deserve to lose their seat. They've been a complete embarrassment to our system. Go Dems!

Yes and I am concerned about it

I know it will help Obama, if elected, to get off to a fast start, but it worries me when one party has too much power!

Finally the Neo Con regime will topple and Americans will have our country back.  We have much work to do to repair the damage the GOP has inflicted on our wonderful country and we also have to reach out and really work with not only our allies but also countries we have not been able to work with due to the ignorance of the GOP.  It is time America had real change and it is going to be great to have America back on track and President Obama leading the way.  We see what has happened with the GOP in power all of these years and it is horrible.

January 2009 - Marks the end of an error!!!

I would usually prefer to have a bipartisan government, but in this time of needed change, I believe a Democratic Congress will help make these potential governmental reforms a reality.

I'm an Independent that leans slightly left, but having any side in complete control is never a good thing.

i thought that obama would bring together all people?  isn't that what he is running on?  then why would we want one party in control?  didn't we have that a few years ago?  does anyone remember that?  you want a check and balance system.  the problem is not that one party blocks the other, it is that the two parties blame the other.  why won't anyone realize that!  you want new blood in the white house, then why can't people put new blood in congress!  we put them there, start telling them that if they cannot work together with the other parties, then we will find someone that will.  if it is an obama, pelosi, reid combo, look out, that will not be good.  make these people accountable for their actions.  if you hate congress soo much, vote them out.  why do they get a free pass?

You people are so naive... neither party is inherently evil. What is evil is how easily humans are corrupted with power, and we've just given the Democrats absolute power just like we gave to the republicans in 2000. Thank you for destroying my country.... again... for like the 3rd time. We are going to be under a 1 party system just like China, North Korea, and other totalitarian states. This is fact.

Everyone blames all the mess in our government on Bush, but Dem's have had the house and they have accomplished nothing!  My personal view is they all need to be voted "OUT" and we need to start fresh. All those in office now take special interest groups views and place them ahead of running this country the way it was meant to be run.  All members of Congress and the President need to be put on the same social security program and Medicare program as the rest of us and their raises should be put in the hands of the voters putting them in office.  We the people of the USA are not allowed to vote on our raises and they shouldn't be able to either.  In the past 20 years of Bush and Clinton, the only progress that was made was creating bubbles that burst and now we have to pay for it!  They all need to be voted "OUT"!  Obama will not bring this country together and he doesn't have any experience in running any kind of financial organization much less foreign policy knowledge.  All I see with him is the war on terror being brought home to our soil and continuing to bail out Wallstreet.  With McCain, at least I'll feel safer at home!

Obama preaches change, couple that with a democratic majority and even democrats have to be a bit concerned.  We need opinions that differ from one another.  As much as most democrats hate Bush, we could be in to lose most of our rights.

Are you kidding? If the entire government is controlled by the Democrats, this country is going south. Obama, Biden and Pelosi, the top three. Not to mention Harry Reid. This country will be so far to the left, say goodbye to capitalism and hello to socialism. I worked hard to earn my salary and now the government wants to take that away and give it to someone else. So for the middle-class you get a tax break, but the Dems want to tax 401k contributions, and who relies on their 401k, the middle-class. Increased spending and higher taxes is going to sink this economy. Don't buy into Obama's plan, when the government runs out of money from ridiculous spending, they will eventually need money, and where are they going to get it from: The middle-class.

I understand that having a bipartisan government is ideal, however I have never seen one that has worked.

I believe the Democrats have always come in to clean up the mess the Republicans make, that's just what we do, and we are better for the country.

All you people so excited for change. Did you ever stop to ask yourselves what we'll be changing into? Or is your hatred so blind that it doesn't matter what happens, as long as it's different? Perhaps you would do well to consider that for all the problems in this country, you don't see many people expatriating to Russia, or France, or China. Maybe this country is better than you think. It would be a good idea to ask what we're getting with obama and a filibuster proof Senate before you go ahead and say it's so great.

How some people forget that the current congress is ran by democrats, not republicans.  You may hate GW, and I not a big fan as well, but you dems need to remember that Nancy Pelosi and your buddy Reid have the lowest approval rating EVER at 14%.  Where are the promises that they made, "that in our first 100 hours we are going to bring reforms"?  Nothing, NADA, zippo.  Your going to get your wish, but watch out what you wish for.  I can hear Pelosi again, like two years ago, "the people have given us a mandate", well my mandate is not for higher taxes, to create job stimilus for smaller businesses, and to stop giving away "the farm" to people who don't want to work.  Every large welfare program has been created by the Dems and I fear what's next.  Good Luck to us all.  Just remember Dems, you hate the government more today then ever in our countries history and its ran by your own party.

Everyone forgets that the mess Bush had to deal with was left to him compliments of the Clinton administration.  Billy did nothing to combat terrorism and let Barney Franks and friends run amok with Fannie and Freddie.  Everyone forgets that Bush tried to fight against the stupid mortgages that Franks demanded that banks give out, and was he was called a racist for it.  95% of the planning for 9/11 happened under Billy Boy.  Now we will have a president who said that our military was "air raiding villages and terrorizing women and children."  What HOPE do we have that he will really do anything to fight Islamic radicals if he would say something like that about our miliary???

When are we going to start fighting for this country. We need to quit attacking each other and start working together to rebuild our country. That is what Barack is all about, get us out of Iraq and put that money toward healthcare and rebuilding the countries infrastructure.
