We use electronic voting these days, AND the early vote. I had to turn to the PBS stations to get the current results because the other networks held the results as long as they could to keep the ratings high. When the polls closed in California, the result was already known and if you were still in line then you had no idea that Cali had been declared. It's one of those new REALITIES: keep breathing...

People don't want handouts, they want the rich who have become very prosperous with the middle class help, to stop taking us for granted and not contributing their fair share. It is as simple as that! No more, no less! I'd love it if I had to pay a higher tax rate !!  That means I earned over $250,000 - not bad at all.  And if my extra tax money will help create jobs for more people and provide health care for EVERYONE and avoid home foreclosures for people who earn only $50,000 and can't afford to pay tax at all right now - that's fine with me.  And I say raise those taxes on the huge Corporations - they make big bucks and know how to write off a ton of exemptions (including expanding to overseas locations)  that lowers their tax rate -  their workers actually pay a higher tax rate than the big guys.

1. The rich are always invested in protected products (not products that create capital gains) and always pay the least income tax because they have LEARNED how to invest and protect their money.
2. Well over 50% of all jobs are created by small business. You start taxing the little guy, and you willl start to see the jobs go away.
3. The more you tax "Big Business" the more you will see them exit the U.S. for countries that tax them less. Oh, that is where the Middle Class jobs are ... sorry, more job loss.

When I was building my small business, Uncle Sam had his hand out for his portion of every cent I made. When I had to make a choice to feed my family or pay taxes, I fed my family. It took 5 years to finally pay off the taxes and penalties that I had to pay. No tax breaks here. Isn't it funny (not laughing) how Government wants to share in my success, but not my loss. Why not go to a Consumption Tax instead of a Income Tax?  Oh, I forgot ... you can't hand out money, and you would actually shrink Government if you modified the Tax Code.

If Preident-Elect Obama wants to impress me ... Just make a government that is not such a burden on its people and change the tax code so that we don't have to have a discussion as to who should be taxed even more (I may have to let people go ...
